The roguelike video game Dead Cells is now also available as a board game. Fans in this country can now be happy that a German-language localization is planned. The publisher Frosted Games is taking on the project.
Dead Cells is extremely popular among gamers. The roguelike game shines above all with its great combat system, but it also annoys some fans with an excessive amount of grind. The popular template ultimately made it into the world of board games as “Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game” via crowdfunding.
The RNG was sometimes annoying in video games, but in the board game segment a portion of luck is de rigueur – at least depending on the game concept. Scorpion Masqué did a pretty good job of adapting the original. The publisher had generated almost a million euros through crowdfunding via Kickstarter in order to be able to turn the video game into a board game in the first place. Fans took up the opportunity in large numbers.
The only flaw so far: There was no localized version of the Dead Cells board game. That will now change. The publisher Frosted Games will take on the project and provide fans from German-speaking countries with their own language version.
