Board documents reveal problems with the intensive capacity at Ahus

The National Institute of Public Health warns that increasing corona infection will put greater pressure on the health care system. But one year into the pandemic, the most important hospitals in Eastern Norway have major challenges in securing intensive care capacity.

On Wednesday, the National Institute of Public Health presented new figures on the corona situation. These show that the increasing trend of infection can lead to between 20 and 60 new hospital admissions per. day in three weeks.

FHI further writes in the report that with the current infection situation it is considered 94.5 per cent certain that a peak of infection will trigger a need for more than 500 intensive care places, and in the worst case more than 1000 places.
