BNR misleads gossip vlogger with fake video of ‘drug use’ Talitha Muusse

The images Coldeweijer shared were made in the toilet of a catering facility in Amsterdam. Coldeweijer shared them this week with her paying followers on Telegram. “Oh, how ugly this is,” she says. But also ‘that it could of course have been set up’.

Blurred video

According to BNR, it is very easy to spread untruths through a juice channel. “A blurry video was enough for Yvonne Coldeweijer to accuse Muusse of coke use in front of almost half a million Instagram followers,” the radio station reports.

In a response to BNR Coldeweijer states that she has clearly stated that the video could possibly be fake. “I’m not BNR, I’m not NRC, I’m not some investigative journalist. I’m just a juice channel. When I receive a video of someone sniffing, I just post it. It’s just juice.”

Muusse says that the publication changed his mind about juice channels. “At first you think: where there is smoke there is fire. But now I know: there is often only smoke. Someone only has to shoot a video of your back and they can damage you.”

In a case that singer Samantha Steenwijk had filed against Coldeweijer the court in Amsterdam recently determined that Coldeweijer had to rectify for sharing fake news. Coldeweijer also had to pay for the legal costs worth almost 2,500 euros.
