BNI coordinates with Government to save Sritex (SRIL)




Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Director Bank PT Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BBNI) Royke Tumilaar revealed that his party was coordinating with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto regarding the plan to save PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk. (SRIL) was officially declared bankrupt.

Royke said that due diligence must be done in deciding on a plan to save the company of Indonesia’s former textile king.

“Due diligence first, can the asset produce a return, can the debt be repaid and we have to look at the value of the asset and can the tools produce a return normally,” said Royke at the Indonesian DPR Building, Wednesday (13th). /11/2024).

He then said that his party was waiting and following instructions and coordination from the Coordinating Minister Airlangga regarding this issue.

“We depend on creditors,” Royke said.

BNI is one of the banks that have receipts from Sritex. As of September 2024, Sritex has credit with BNI of IDR 375 billion. In fact, Royke revealed that BNI loans also flowed to the Sritex business entity.

Just a reminder, the Indonesian government decided to save the largest textile company in Southeast Asia. Coordination Minister Airlangga said that Sritex must continue to work, according to the instructions of President Prabowo Subianto at a limited cabinet meeting.
