BMW Motorrad Introduces ConnectedRide Smartglasses: The Ultimate Motorcycle Accessory for Tech Enthusiasts

BMW Motorrad presented an interesting accessory for its customers, which is likely to arouse serious interest among fans of new technologies. The glasses, which go by the name ConnectedRide Smartglasses, look just like standard sunglasses at first glance, but can actually provide different data when riding a motorcycle via the BMW Motorrad Connected app.

The glasses are available with dark and light lenses and can even be ordered with a diopter if required. Data such as speed, gear, navigation directions and other travel data are projected onto one of the glasses, effectively providing the option of a head-up display right in front of the rider’s eyes.

The glasses are powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery that can last up to 10 hours and can be charged via a USB cable. They are designed to work in temperatures down to 50 °C or -10 °C for the bravest.

Considering the technology put into them, the glasses don’t come cheap, with an RRP of €690, but they’re also not the most expensive sunglasses we’ve ever seen a car manufacturer offer, regardless of the technology they feature.
