BMW has developed a set of smart glasses for motorcyclists. The glasses, called BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses, connect to your smartphone and a dedicated app via Bluetooth, and can then show a heads-up display on the lens so you know where you’re going, how fast you’re going, what speed you hold, which gear you have and much more.
The glasses will also have a lithium-ion battery that will provide ten hours of use on a single charge. In addition, the lenses are made from either UVA or UVB protective material, meaning they also protect your eyes from UV radiation, and one pair even has tinted lenses, meaning they can double as sunglasses .
The catch with a device like this is that it’s not particularly cheap right now. The glasses will reportedly cost 690 euros when they are launched in the future.
