BMW bought one of the largest tuning companies ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – Auto

The German tuning company Alpina is now owned by BMW. The two brands, whose collaboration dates back more than 50 years, have signed an agreement according to which BMW will come into total possession of Alpina after December 31, 2025.

The tuning studio will continue to sell its cars in its dealerships, as will the accessories and parts, but production will move to one of BMW’s factories. In fact, this will not be so new, as even now the cars are assembled in the Bavarian factory before being sent for final assembly at the Alpina plant.

Burcard Bovenzipen founded Alpina in 1965 and quickly gained fame for making BMWs faster and better behaved. In 1970 the company achieved great success in motorsport, and in 1983 it was recognized as an independent brand. Since then, Alpina and BMW have worked together and maintained a close relationship, and unlike the M Performance division of the Bavarians, Alpina focuses more on the combination of luxury and road behavior.
