The 6th generation model will be available with various power units, including an electric one, which reaches 601 hp in the most powerful version.
BMW has announced the new 5-series Touring station wagon, which offers a wide selection of powertrains in an equally wide price range. The car will be available with petrol, diesel and hybrid engines, as well as an all-electric i5 model. Prices will start at €61,750 for the diesel version of the 520d and end at at least €101,500 if the electric high-performance i5 M60 xDrive model is chosen.
In its sixth generation, the Touring has become 97 mm longer, 32 mm wider and 17 mm higher, the wheelbase has increased by 20 mm, and the luggage compartment now accommodates 570-1700 liters – more than the competitor Audi A6 Avant.

Like the 5-series sedan, which debuted in the spring of 2023, the new Touring also gets modern technologies, including Highway Assistant, which includes changing lanes with the help of an eye glance, that is, to change lanes, the driver must look in the mirror of the relevant side. Autopilot works up to a speed of 130 km/h, allows you to remove your hands from the steering wheel, but requires you to follow the situation on the road.

In the salon with a completely vegan arrangement, the curved BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch display for the driver and a 14.9-inch screen for multimedia, a steering wheel flattened at the bottom, a large rotary knob for selecting modes in the center console. Optional Merino leather upholstery, panoramic glass roof and Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound with 18 speakers. The list of extras also includes M sports suspension, M sports brake system, Professional adaptive suspension (BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring already in the series). An even finer mechanism – M Professional suspension with active roll control and active Roll Comfort function – only in the optional equipment list of the top model M60 xDrive Touring.

Parking assistant, reversing camera, reversing assistant and trailer assistant as standard, Parking Assistant Professional assistant with automated parking and the ability to maneuver up to a distance of 200 meters outside the vehicle from a smartphone – for an additional fee.
All Touring diesel engines are combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology and an 8-speed automatic transmission, rear or all-wheel drive. The four-cylinder 520d Touring and 520d xDrive Touring available now offer 197 hp, rear- or all-wheel drive, and will be joined by a six-cylinder diesel and two plug-in hybrid versions in the summer. Version 530e xDrive Touring will develop 299 hp and will be able to drive 89 kilometers on electricity.

There will also be two i5 models with all-electric equipment. The i5 eDrive40 Touring (from 72,200 euros) is endowed with 340 hp and can reach 560 kilometers according to WLTP, while the 601 hp i5 M60 xDrive Touring develops 601 hp, but the range will be slightly less – up to 506 kilometers.
The new 5-series Touring will hit the market at the end of May.
