BMKG Predicts Hilal Height Determination of 1 Shawwal 1443 H to Print New Record

BMKG describes the calculation of the determination of the new moon position 1 Syawal 1443 H or Eid Al-Fitr (Eid 2022). According to BMKG, the height of the new moon this time will set a new world record. How is it calculated?

“According to the calculation of the BMKG hilal calculator, the height of the hilal in Indonesia tomorrow Sunday, May 1, 2022 is between 3.79 degrees to 5.57 degrees,” BMKG wrote in its Instagram account @infobmkg as seen detik.comSunday (1/5/2022).

“If tomorrow the BMKG observation team manages to see the new moon, it will be the latest world record,” continued BMKG.

BMKG said so far the hilal with the lowest altitude ever observed by BMKG was 6.21 degrees. The incident occurred in 2016.

“The hilal with the lowest altitude ever observed by BMKG (Through the Waingapu Geophysical Station observer team) was 6.21 degrees in 2016 and is an unbreakable record,” he said.

With the predicted height of the new moon between 3.79 degrees to 5.57 degrees, when exactly Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated?

“For the determination of 1 Shawwal itself, it will follow the decision of @kemenag_ri,” wrote the BMKG.
