The BMG group, located in Angers (Maine-et-Loire), is a player in corporate real estate with a portfolio of 200 sites and nearly 900,000 square meters of offices, warehouses and business premises. This family SME of 90 employees developing a real estate and development activity gains a new profession by taking over CIR Préfa. This company, with 160 employees in Tonneins (Lot-et-Garonne), specializes in the prefabrication of ready-to-install concrete elements. BMG becomes, in fact, a manufacturer.
“In recent decades, the economic system tended to specialize companies but we are returning to more integrated organizations for greater reliability,” observes Nicolas Ramé, general director of BMG. “The Covid crisis strained the supply chain and we found ourselves with difficulties on our sites,” he continues. “By integrating construction, with a prefabricator, we enter into a short circuit logic, we make savings from the design stage and we thus obtain more competitive prices. »
Concrete plants
CIR Préfa has a design office and a recent industrial site of 30,000 m2 over 110,000 m2 of land, with its own concrete plants. This industrial center could be expanded because the company has more than two years of visibility on its activity. CIR Préfa also has a works team and its own installation company, E. bat.
Its turnover, which amounted to 20 million euros in 2022, is expected to reach 30 to 35 million this year. “In France, we are still very late in prefabrication,” notes Nicolas Ramé. CIR Préfa has, according to him, taken a head start in off-site construction with its design and production capabilities of tailor-made elements that can immediately integrate cables and windows.
CIR Préfa highlights references such as the Hennessy cellars or, soon, the Imaginarium, headquarters of the unicorn Exotec in Wasquehal, near Lille, already under the aegis of BMG. Deliverable in 2024, this 25,000 m project2, making it possible to reclassify a former tertiary wasteland on the banks of the Roubaix canal, is one of the flagship projects of BMG, which has signed a loan of 46 million euros with the Caisse d’Epargne Hauts-de- for this purpose. France and Crédit Agricole Nord de France. The group also announced, this summer, the subscription of an impact loan amounting to 95.4 million euros from Bpifrance, for the energy transformation of its premises.
Among its other references, mainly on the outskirts of large cities, BMG cites the Bridge and Spi buildings in Mérignac (Gironde), L’Arcole in Sophia Antipolis (Alpes-Maritimes) or Le Twins in Schiltigheim (Bas-Rhin). The SME, which does not communicate its turnover, is also developing around fifteen coworking sites with variable geometry under the B’CoWorker brand, making it possible to revitalize pre-existing buildings.
