As announced, the “BluesKojoten” from the Amberg-Sulzbach area only performed songs that could be classified as rarities. Material from more or less popular albums by artists whose names perhaps no one would know without Spotify & Co. And when there was a well-known piece, it sounded more like you were hearing it for the first time. Nevertheless, the “Live Stage” visitors didn’t miss an opportunity to clap and rock along on Friday evening. This created an atmosphere that was both intimate and exuberant in “Parapluie”.
Rhythm-focused rhythm & blues and rock’n’roll
The music fans showed with great cheers that they enjoyed the evening. The four-member coyote pack, which was founded four years ago, was very authentic. The repertoire: rhythm-focused rhythm & blues and rock’n’roll, well colored by guitar and blues harp. “Mabellene”, “Flip Flop & Fly”, “Lights Out”. Played in the way that one could now imagine, looking back, the first appearances of the then unknown young Mich Jagger alongside Long John Baldry in the London clubs. The mission was: Let’s boogie.
Listiger Comic-Kojote
For the record: The “BluesKojoten”, that is Ulrich “Uli” Lommer (Guitar),
Andreas „Andy“ Kletzin (Drums), Manfred „Mane“ Bauer (bass) and Michael “Myk” Schatz (harmonica, guitar). It was the band’s 25th appearance. The banner in the background depicted a sly cartoon coyote, with a microphone in his hand and a hat between his ears. The four people from Upper Palatinate, all active in the regional music scene and beyond, occasionally accompanied the musical gems they discovered with catchy original compositions and constantly changed the lead singer. In between, they told little stories and joked with the audience.
