Jakarta –
BlueBird Group will use new cars as a taxi fleet. In fact, a leak of the car has been shared by one of their top officials on social media.
The figure who ‘leaked’ the prospective new taxi fleet was Sigit Priawan Djokosoetono as Deputy Main Director (Wadirut) of BlueBird Group. Unfortunately, he disguised the identity of the vehicle by adding a blur effect.
“Just a little spill, a picture of one of BlueBird’s new car production kitchens. Preparing the blue bird before it is ready to leave the cage,” wrote Sigit via his official Instagram account, quoted Tuesday, (14/11)

The new car was parked right in front of the Transmover in the old fleet. Several people in BlueBird uniforms were gluing logo stickers and taxi numbers. In addition, they also install additional components, such as vehicle crowns, security lights and information screens.
“Can anyone guess what car this is?” asked Sigit at the end of his caption.
BlueBird’s New Taxi Fleet
Even though it is made blurry, the identity of the prospective new fleet can be recognized. If you look at the dimensions, body curves and grille design, the vehicle is clearly the All New Toyota Avanza which will launch at the end of 2021.

The news that BlueBird is using the new Avanza as a taxi fleet is actually not new news. Because, it has been discussed long ago. In fact, the car unit is already at their head office which is located in Mampang, South Jakarta.
At the BlueBird event which was recently held in BSD City, South Tangerang, we had the opportunity to chat with Sigit Priawan about the rejuvenation of taxis and the use of the new Avanza as a replacement fleet.
At that time, Sigit confirmed that he would use the new Avanza as a new fleet. In fact, he said, Toyota will regularly start sending its units this year.
“(This year, Toyota) can supply (the new Avanza). We really need to negotiate when the delivery will be, because we have a real commitment to rejuvenating and relocating the city location,” said Sigit at the end of last August.
Furthermore, until the end of the year, BlueBird will carry out many renovations. However, the focus is still on petrol vehicles, not electric.
“We still have capex which has only reached 50 percent this year, so we are continuing to boost the rejuvenation of our vehicles, the majority of which are still ICE and not much electricity,” he said.
For the record, BlueBird has been using the Avanza Transmover as a taxi fleet since 2017. This car is the lowest variant of the Avanza which Toyota has prepared to target fleet consumers.
Until now, there has been no official information regarding when the new BlueBird taxi fleet will operate. However, Sigit’s upload on social media gives a signal that the time is not far away.
