Blue Origin Postpones ‘Star Trek’ Star Space Flight : Okezone techno

BLUE Origin announced the postponement of the next space shuttle flight. On this flight the plan is to bring film actors’Star Trek‘ William Shatner. The delay was made due to the anticipation of the wind. The flight was originally scheduled for October 12, 2021.

“Due to the wind forecast on Tuesday 12 October, the mission operations team Blue Origin has made the decision to postpone the launch of the NS-18 and will be replaced on Wednesday 13 October,” a Blue Origin spokesperson said in a statement. Variety, Monday (11/10/2021).

The new flight is targeted to take off from Blue Origin One Launch Site in Texas on Wednesday 13 October 2021 at 8:30 a.m. CST.

Shatner, best known for playing Captain James T Kirk in the 1960s television series ‘Star Trek’, will be the first member to travel to space.

Shatner, who is now 90 years old, will also be the oldest person to ever go into space.

The trip was scheduled to take Shatner and the crew of the NS-18 beyond the Karman line as high as 62 miles. They will experience four minutes of weightlessness.

The crew will also be able to observe the curvature of Planet Earth. This flight will be an expedition for Blue Origin’s second crew.

The addition of one of the most recognizable actors from space exploration television to the launch is aimed at stirring up excitement around the space tourism sector.

The first Blue Origin crew flight took place last July, and included flying Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark, Wally Funk, and Oliver Daeman as his crew.

Shatner will be joined by Chris Boshuizen, a former NASA engineer and co-founder of Planet Labs; Glen de Vries, co-founder of Medidata and Audrey Power, vice president of mission operations and flight at Blue Origin.
