[드림저널 = 김영호기자] Blue One’s professional billiards team, Blue One Angels (Owning Owner, Vice Chairman Yoon Jae-yeon), overcame the sluggishness at the beginning of the season and advanced to the postseason by winning second place in the late team league and overall runner-up in the season.
From the 8th to the 14th, the final 6th round of the PBA Team League was held at Sono Calm, Goyang. The Blue One Angels recorded 4 wins and 3 losses against 7 teams and finished runner-up with a total of 12 wins and 9 losses in the late team league. The Blue One Angels finished second overall with a season record of 23 wins and 19 losses, advancing to the postseason for the second consecutive time following last season.
The Blue One Angels’ playoff match (3 out of 5) will be held on February 18-19 against the winners of Hana Card and TS Shampoo and Puradak’s semi-playoff match (2 out of 3) to advance to the championship match. A one-win advantage is applied to the top teams, which gives them a slight advantage in the playoffs but a disadvantage in the championship match.
Last season, despite playing an equal match against Welcome Savings Bank 3-3, they were blocked by 1 advantage and stayed in the runner-up. In the final championship match of this season, they are waiting for revenge, hoping for a return match.
Although the performance at the beginning of this season was poor, the teamwork of the players revived and the team play stabilized, ending the first half of the season in a tie for third place with a dramatic turnaround. Even in the second half of the season, the players’ unwavering passion and tenacity for victory continued to promote.
Eom Sang-pil, captain of the Blue One Angels, said, “I look forward to meeting Welcome Savings Bank again in the final as the team’s strength has strengthened this year.”
All post-season games starting on February 17 will be broadcast live on TV from SBS Sports, PBA&Golf, MBC Sports+, IB Sports, etc., and will be broadcast on the Internet on YouTube’s PBA TV.
