Freiburg (ots) – Larger traffic disruptions result from yesterday’s accident at work in Buchenbach. There, on the premises of a sawmill, there was an accident with a loading conveyor crane, a so-called gantry crane. Wood that obviously came loose at first, which then wedged itself into the crane, caused the crane construction to buckle in parts and is now threatening to fall onto the L 128 that is leading alongside.
This is why this road between Buchenbach and St. Märgen is currently closed. The fatal thing is that this is the detour route for the B31. This is completely closed to traffic because of an imminent rockfall in Höllental. Traffic to and from the Black Forest must now be diverted via St. Märgen and St. Peter. The B31, traveling east, is diverted at Kirchzarten. Traffic in the direction of Donaueschingen was backed up during rush hour up to the Kappler Tunnel.
Road users are urged to avoid the area as far as possible. The L128 will remain impassable at least until the afternoon.
The two injured workers are not in mortal danger.

Freiburg (ots) – On Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at around 5:30 p.m., the integrated control center in Freiburg was informed of an accident at work at a large company in Buchenbach.
According to initial findings, part of a loading/conveyor crane broke off – two employees of the company who were in the cab of the crane were trapped and seriously injured. A helicopter was also used to rescue people.
The police have started the investigation into the accident at work.
For reasons of road safety and to carry out the rescue and investigative measures, the through road in Buchenbach (L 128/Talstraße) between Griesdobelstraße and Spirzenstraße had to be completely closed.
