What Natural Phenomenon Is It?
A number of experts say that natural phenomena need not be feared. Physicist from Rutgers University, Troy Shinbrot, said this phenomenon is safe.
“If it’s dangerous, the apocalypse already happened a thousand years ago when the blue tinge was discovered,” said Shinbrot.
Other scientists believe the eruption in the sky or luminosity is caused by the friction of rocks near the earth’s crust. Then, this friction releases energy into the atmosphere. These flashes of blue light are produced near the earth’s surface.
Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey said the blue light that appeared near the epicenter was actually an earthquake light.
National Autonomous University seismologist, Mexico, Victor Manuel Cruz Atienza, claims the sky was filled with electrical activity last night from a rainstorm. “We can’t relate the light phenomenon to the earthquake,” he said.
