Blue Lane – that is the name of the route between Königsplatz in the city center and Messestadt Riem during the International Motor Show IAA Mobility. Environmentally friendly driving should have priority on it, i.e. emission-free cars, car pools and local public transport.
Driver unsafe
At first glance it is a little confusing: The Blue Lane is not marked blue at all, but yellow, as we know it from road construction sites, and some motorists seem unsure: may I or may I not use this lane?
Too many have probably not done it wrong so far. There were no known disruptions on Blue Lane, it said yesterday evening at the Munich police headquarters – apart from the protests, which have generally led to traffic obstructions, not only on Blue Lane.
Electric cars, buses, car pools
Otherwise, environmentally friendly driving has priority there between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. – i.e. electric cars, buses and car pools with at least three people – even if they are not on their way to the trade fair or are not coming from there. The hard shoulder on the A 94 is used for this. Within the urban area – between the Autobahn and Königsplatz – on the other hand, part of the regular lane is used as a blue lane.
Anyone who gets on the wrong track under the eyes of the police will be informed, as it says in the presidium. Chargeable warnings are not provided.
