In April 2019, “cultural icon” starred in his mother’s documentary for Netflix, Homecoming. This documentary, which showed behind the scenes of Beyoncé’s preparation for her performance at Coachella 2018, testified to Blue Ivy’s emerging talent while she sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during rehearsals.
The song ended up being included on the surprise album Homecoming from Beyoncé.
Elderly Carter also freestyle on a bonus track in the physical edition of the album 4:44 from his father, Jay-Z.
Blue rappers on the song, titled “Blue’s Freestyle / We Family”, for 45 seconds, saying: “Everything, everything is my only single thing / Everything I hear is my answer … I never hear that / I be in the posse / Never seen a ceiling in my whole life. ” (Everything, everything is mine / All I hear is my response … I never hear that / I am in posse / I have never seen a limit in my whole life.)
