NAfter the great triumph in the regular season, the Blue Hawks are in the semi-finals and will welcome the Gmunden Rams at home in Schönfeld on Saturday (3 p.m.).
The July 8 game will be the biggest in the club’s history as the Blue Hawks have never before had home advantage in a play-off game. But the great run in the regular season finally made it possible this year. “We want to turn the game into a big party,” promises chairman Simon Spalenka, who is also planning a few attractions around the game. For example, there will be a raffle, a wine bar, a barbecue and the opportunity to end the evening with the Blue Hawks family.
But the opponents also take the game very seriously and have already organized a fan bus to take them there. “We therefore expect a full house with free entry for all visitors,” says Spalenka, assuming a sizzling atmosphere. “The atmosphere will definitely be unique!” There should also be fan choreographies.
The Blue Hawks have not lost since they played their home games in Schoenfeld and are holding eight wins in eight games. “Of course we want to expand this series, which would be tantamount to reaching the final in Division 2 for the first time,” says Spalenka.
