The Swiss railway company BLS inaugurated the modernized Wabern station near Bern and the new double-track line between Wabern and Kehrsatz Nord on Friday.
Bern (evn) – With the completion of the construction project, which cost around 70 million francs, a bottleneck on the route network of the Bern S-Bahn will disappear, announced the BLS. Among other things, the two platforms and all track and contact line systems in the station were renewed. In the future, it will be possible to board the low-floor trains at ground level. The existing station building from the Wilhelminian era was also renovated.
