Bloomberg quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Apple (AAPL-US) A thinner and lighter MacBook Air is being developed and adopts the classic MagSafe magnetic charging technology. It will be released in the second half of this year or earlier next year.
The report pointed out that the latest MacBook Air will be equipped with a new generation of Mac processors developed by Apple and a team of USB 4 ports for connecting external devices. In addition, it is reported that Apple is discussing whether to reduce the size of the notebook to make the size of the notebook more compact. Small, but the screen itself will still maintain 13 inches.
It is worth noting that MagSafe’s magnetic charging design will also reappear in the new generation of MacBook Air. MagSafe’s magnetic design uses the principle of magnet adsorption to allow the power cord to be more easily connected or separated from the body, and can also prevent malfunction. Pulling the power cord carefully leads to the dilemma of sacrifice of the entire laptop.
According to people familiar with the matter, Apple has considered producing a larger version of the MacBook Air with a screen size of 15 inches, but no plan related content has been reported.
Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted that Apple will launch a new generation of MacBook Air in 2022, equipped with a mini LED screen, and recently stated that MagSafe magnetic charging design can be seen in the future MacBook series.
In this regard, “Bloomberg” well-known Apple reporter Mark Gurman stated in another report that MagSafe will not directly replace the existing USB Type-C. It will be an independent charging interface and set next to Type-C.
