A supposedly harmless child’s drawing was supposed to expose an incredible crime: A five-year-old girl painted her own martyrdom shortly before her death. The child’s own parents tormented and mistreated the child to the end.

What little Chen Ruilin from Hong Kong had to endure in her young life can hardly be put into words. The girl, who, according to a report by the Australian portal “7 News”, died in January 2018 at the age of only five, was cruelly abused and tortured before her premature death. Her murderer brought the little one down before she died – with evidence that makes your blood run cold.

Girls (5) brutally tortured and mistreated – but nobody noticed

For a long time no one noticed that little Chen Ruilin, who lived in Hong Kong with her father Chen Haiping, 29, and her stepmother Huang Xiaotong, 30, had been brutally tortured and ill-treated for a long time. It was only after the child’s death that hair-raising details came to light – and Chen Ruilin’s tormentors were finally exposed.

Horror parents torture girls (5) to the death – brother (8) survived

It was her own parents who mistreated the five-year-old for practically her entire life. Not only Chen Ruilin, but also her eight-year-old brother was abused and starved by the brutal parents – but the boy survived and was placed in the care of relatives. Chen Haiping and Huang Xiaotong were tried three years after their daughter’s death.

Victims of abuse convict killer parents with gruesome children’s drawings

But before her death, the five-year-old had left important evidence that was to convict her tormentors and bring them to justice. In kindergarten, the girl had drawn a picture that at first glance looked like harmless children’s doodles – but on closer inspection it became clear that the abused child had processed his own story of suffering. The drawing showed a house in which there were obviously people and blood dripped down from the walls and collected in a puddle on the floor.

The court commissioned a psychologist to analyze the disturbing picture. In the process, gruesome details of the abuse became apparent: little Chen Ruilin had apparently been thrown into the air several times, so that the child’s head hit the ceiling – the doctors only became aware of the resulting injuries when the girl was shortly before her death was hospitalized. According to forensic examinations, the child was also tortured with batons and scissors.

The prosecution also called several teachers, relatives and doctors treating the deceased girl to the stand. The latter revealed the ordeal the five-year-old had suffered. More than 130 injuries were discovered on her tiny body shortly before Chen Ruilin’s death. Years of abuse had weakened the child so physically that his immune system was ultimately unable to fend off infections – from which the girl ultimately died.

Horror parents face life imprisonment after the death of girls (5)

The maximum penalty for horror parents is life imprisonment – while the death penalty was abolished in Hong Kong in the 1990s, convicted murderers can still be executed in the rest of China. In addition, the girl’s 56-year-old grandmother was also found guilty of child abuse in two cases.
