FromSoftware’s celebrated title Bloodborne is a constant topic of discussion, mainly due to the absence of a PlayStation 5 or PC version and the frame rate being locked at 30 fps. In July, the game was doing extremely well even more than eight years after its release and ranked among the most played titles of the month on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Despite this, players and fans still cannot and will not wait for the new version through the official way, so the community repeatedly tries other ways. Now it’s clear that Bloodborne can run on PlayStation 5 at 1080p resolution and at that dreamy 60 fps, but unfortunately, players personally won’t be able to get that option.
Illusion has done it! My Bloodborne 60fps patch has been ported to run within the current state of PlayStation 5 hacking / exploitation. Real retail PS5 hardware running Bloodborne at locked 60fps in full 1080p

History is actually repeating itself a bit. Well-known modder, hacker and dataminer Lance McDonald, who also goes by the nickname ManFightsDragon, has been playing with Bloodborne for some time. McDonald is also known for his experiments and discoveries related to the Dark Souls and Demon Souls series, but also the playable PT demo that he explored through and through. In 2020, he created a 60fps mod for Bloodborne version 1.09, which he presented on his modified PlayStation 4 Pro console, a year later he released a separate mod when Sony did not take any official steps regarding the game. However, a new generation of consoles was already out, so people began to wonder if something like this would be possible on the PlayStation 5. Yes, it would be, as evidenced by another fan effort captured in the video above.
McDonald isn’t the only one experimenting with Bloodborne, with a user nicknamed Illusion also getting a standing ovation from the community this time. The latter used McDonald’s already finished 60fps mod and ported it to run on the regular PlayStation 5 console, but of course with the use of hacking. While in the case of PlayStation 4 the mod reduced the resolution to 720p, in this case it remains at full resolution 1080p. Of course, hacking Sony’s latest console is no longer uncharted territory after all this time, but it presents a significant obstacle for ordinary gamers. So we can only continue to ask why Sony does not intend to give this joy to players officially, and ideally with the much-demanded version for PC.
