Set in the city of Yharnam in “Bloodborne”, the April Fool’s Day joke game by overseas game developer Lilith Walther was originally scheduled to be released at the end of January, but the plan was temporarily halted due to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s move. However, thankfully, this game will not disappear, it will just “no longer be a fan game”.
“Bloodborne Kart” is a fan-submitted game development project announced by Walther on April Fool’s Day in 2021. After years of development, it was originally determined to be launched on the independent game platform Itch.io for free on January 31, but this date will be postponed.
According to Walther, Sony officials have contacted him by letter. In short, Walther must remove the “Bloodborne Kart” trademark elements that previously had “Bloodborne Kart”, including the game’s name.
WHELP. IT HAPPENED
Sony contacted me 🫣
Long story short I need to scrub the branding off of what was previously known as Bloodborne Kart, which we will do. But that requires a short delay.
Don’t worry, the game is still coming out! It’ll just look slightly different 💙

Although it will be delayed, the good news is that the game has not been banned by Sony.
“As I’ve said many times in interviews before, we knew this was going to happen for a long time,” Walther said. “As I said we were committed to ‘turning memes into reality,’ we’re excited to make that happen.” An original game with full freedom to create and control. This is no longer a fan game!”
As much as I pushed for this to be “the meme made real” so to speak, turning this into an original game that we have full creative control over is kind of exciting. This is a fan game no more!
Regardless, thanks for understanding everyone!!

Yes, “Bloodborne Kart” will not appear under the same name in the future. Instead, it will have a new name, and the content may also have some modifications, but the previously promised content should generally not change too much.
According to previous official disclosures, this game will have 12 racers, 16 maps, a complete single-player campaign mode, local split-screen multiplayer and competition modes, etc., as well as BOSS battles.
