A large pool of blood with a corresponding trace aroused the suspicion of an act of violence in Hof on Monday night. Shortly before 10 p.m., a passer-by had alerted the police. Officials of the criminal long-term service Hof confirmed by means of a test that it was blood. Due to the large amount, serious injury to a person was very likely and a capital offense could not be ruled out. Therefore, several police patrols were dispatched. After a while, a patrol team discovered a weak trail that led to an apartment building and there directly to an apartment. In order to gain entry quickly, the officers pushed open the door and met a 67-year-old man who was suffering from varicose vein bleeding.
