Blood test after vaccination is useless

There is no point in testing blood for antibodies against Corona virus after vaccination against Corona. This was stated by the professor of epidemiology, Pierre Van Dam, at the weekly press conference of the vaccination action team.

Van Damme said it is not yet known the concentration of antibodies in the blood that can protect against disease. After all, not all antibodies that come out of standard laboratory blood tests are “equivalent” or prevent disease – different types of antibodies are produced to fight viruses, and not all are equally good at eliminating them. Commonly used medical laboratory tests do not distinguish between these “neutral” antibodies and other antibodies that fight viruses in the blood. This requires more specific scientific tests, which are not usually used in medical laboratories. In addition, it is not known what concentration of neutralizing antibody is required to protect against COVID-19.

Antibodies can also disappear from the bloodstream over time without reduced disease protection. However, immune cells still circulate in the blood that can initiate an attack on contact with the virus and help produce new antibodies to fight it.
