In a very difficult field and against one of the few teams undefeated after the first two rounds, Andorra has achieved a very valuable victory thanks to a solitary goal from Lautaro. The tricolors have had to fight and put on their work clothes to get the three points in a field where it was very difficult to play and against an opponent who had very clear how they had to do things.
The first half was a tough one to chew on, with both teams trying to win in direct duels and in the second plays but unable to show themselves dangerous near the areas. Tarazona tried it on a couple of occasions with deflected shots and a shot by Javi Martín that was saved very well by the debutant Oier, while the tricolors tried it with a good move by Álvaro Martín and a quick transition that ended with a header by Manu Nieto blocked by a defender.
Lauti’s goal and seriousness at the back
After the break, Andorra came out determined to take a step forward, but the game didn’t change much either: few options to play inside and both teams looking to do damage from crosses and balls hung into the area. And so the decisive goal came: just a minute after Ferran Costa shook up the team with a triple substitution, Lautaro, one of those who had just come on, took advantage of a cross from Clemente to open the scoring (60′).
From then on, the tricolors knew that they had done the most difficult thing and that they had to defend their advantage tooth and nail. And the team did just that: with three central defenders on the pitch, the team from the Principality rejected almost all the balls that the locals sent into the area. However, Tarazona had a very clear chance to equalise, but Llácer’s shot, at point-blank range, went over the crossbar.
