As summer draws to a close and the people of Albi return to work, the EFS and Rotary Albi Lapérouse are inviting the population of Albi and its surrounding areas to get involved in donating blood… The date is Saturday, September 7!
This has now become the back-to-school event for all Albi donors: the big September collection organized with the Rotary Lapérouse in Albi city center.
For this new 2024 edition, we are changing locations: after Place Sainte Cécile at the foot of the illustrious Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, the blood drive is moving its collection beds to the hall of the Grande Scène Nationale des Cordeliers. An opportunity for us to partner with the Scène Nationale in order to attract new donors. This objective is obviously linked to that of reversing the trend in attendance at our collections, which has been falling sharply since the beginning of the summer.
All these activities and the presence of numerous partners aim to bring together 165 donors over the day.
On the previous edition which was held on Place Sainte Cécile in 2023, the objective was the same as for this one
new edition. However, we had not managed to achieve our goals because we had only been able to meet
156 donors or 78.85% of our objectives.
Let’s hope that this My Blood for Others collection will attract enough donors.
As a reminder, the main conditions for being able to donate blood are:
Be between 18 and 70 years old
Weigh at least 50 kg
To provide proof of identity
Come to the collection well hydrated and not fasting.
