Blood donation: the town of Les Sables-d’Olonne is Vendée champion

The association for the Don de sang volunteer Sables d’Olonne took stock of its activity last year at its general meeting held last weekend.

The association organized our collections and 2022 : four at the Audubon room, two at the Cordulies and two at the Château-d’Olonne.

The municipalities of Jard sur Mer, Sainte Foy and of Ile d’Olonne each hosted one.

1,560 donors in 2022

“These eleven collections represent 1,560 donors. We are progressing, that’s good. »

Among these, 157 donated for the first time.

In collection places, Audubon in Les Sables-d’Olonne remains the association’s flagship room: “We are regularly above two hundred donors at Audubon. We registered 210 last week. Which is exceptional“, underlines the treasurer of the association.

The Vendée and Les Sables in the lead

“We are the first department in France in terms of the number of donations. You should know that we regularly supply the Paca region and Île-de-France. In Vendée, we are in the lead with Challans. We can only be satisfied with this situation”.

The association knows still difficulties in other municipalities. Jean Trichet supports: “In some small towns, associations have difficulty setting up collections, in particular because of the rising cost of food« .

Moreover, this food part remains a large part of the budget of the association for voluntary blood donation in Sables-d’Olonne.

An anonymous financial donation

As far as finances are concerned, the accounts are balanced with a surplus of 206 euros over the financial year.

Murielle Lebrevellec announces: “We have received an anonymous donation of 3,300 euros. It is very generous”.

Collections in 2023

They will take place in Audubon on May 5, June 30, September 8 and November 17. In Cordulies on November 22. Salle Plissonneau on April 26. Jard-sur-Mer on July 7 and in L’Île-d’Olonne on July 1^is september.
