The Sainte-Maxime – Le Plan-de-la-Tour voluntary blood donors association held an emotional general meeting this Saturday at the harbor master’s office.
An emotion due to the departure of President Michel Demay, who announced his resignation after having been head of the Amicale for 24 years.
The leader read his latest moral report, in the presence of the Var departmental union of blood donors Françoise Jeanne-Queré, MP Sereine Mauborgne and elected officials from Max and Plantouria.
2019 was a pretty good year in terms of fundraising, with 682 people donating blood, sixteen more than in 2018: ” The number of new donors, 19 people, is also increasing slightly “Welcomed Michel Demay who also benefited” to thank our generous sponsors. They allow us to improve our collections, but also the town hall which provides us with the Madrague room “.
Collect this morning
Seven collections are scheduled for 2020, including a first this morning in the Madrague room, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The assembly ended with the traditional medal ceremony, before Michel Demay received a beautiful standing-ovation in thanks for all these years spent at the presidency of the Amicale.
The new president will be elected at the next board of directors.
