For its latest collection at La Défense, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) collected 399 donors.
Donors were mobilized again to give blood earlier this year. During its last collection organized from January 2 to 6, inside the Hilton hotel of the CNIT, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) reports that it has received 472 volunteers for donation, including thirty new donors. If all candidates were unable to donate their blood, they are all the same 399 people who were drawn during the five-day collection.
1,700 donations are needed every day in Ile-de-France to meet the needs of patients. Blood donation is open to all people aged 18 to 70 (65 for platelet or plasma donation) and in good health. Samples take an average of seven to ten minutes and can collect between 400 and 500 mL of blood.
EFS organizes collections throughout the year in France, mobile or in its centres. To find a blood donation near you or your workplace, go to EFS website.
