Since the quarantine began, blood donation has dropped by 80%, a situation that has become more complex due to the greater practices that require blood donations. The British Hospital Campaign calls for donating blood at its Vicente López Medical Center, a “VERDE” care area, due to its strict security measures for the admission and care of patients.
Within the framework of World Blood Donor Day that is celebrated every June 14, the British Hospital joins this year’s motto “Donate blood so the world keeps beating” and calls on Saturday June 19 to donate blood in its Vicente López Medical Center located at Av. Maipú 1444 (Vicente López) with turn registering previously through the following online form: https://forms.gle/GydpNJfsugCRtyaA7
The Institution complies with the necessary security measures for the care of donors, patients and personnel, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health of the Nation. Its Medical Centers are “Green” care areas, which means that they are low-risk COVID areas due to the security procedures adopted.
It is worth highlighting the success of the two calls made last year, where more than 40 donors approached to collaborate, which allowed to benefit more than 200 people.
Among the measures implemented in the current Health Emergency context, donors should take into account:
– They must have a previous appointment scheduled by sending the form.
-After scheduling the shift, they must go through a process known as “Triage” to detect if they have symptoms compatible with Covid 19 and guarantee safe care. This Triage is carried out remotely, by telephone in the first stage and at the door of the Center as a second instance.
-They will not be able to enter with companions.
-To guarantee care, they must enter from the street wearing a mask or mask (protection that covers the nose, mouth and chin).
-Shifts are assigned in such a way that there are no delays in attention.
The requirements that donors must meet are: be between 18 and 65 years old, have breakfast or lunch in the usual way, communicate whether they have taken aspirin or anti-inflammatory 72 hours. before donating blood (since if you donate platelets you should not take aspirin or anti-inflammatories for 72 hours before donating), be in good health, have no colds, sore throat or under medical treatment and have not been in contact with suspected or confirmed cases of infection in the past 30 days.
The Vicente López Medical Center, as well as those located in Microcentro, in Lanús and in Lomas de Zamora, are attending outpatient consultations of different medical specialties. Access is only for patients who have previously made an appointment by calling 0810-222-2748.
