Blood donation campaign moves to San José

The blood donation campaign organised by the Badajoz Donor Brotherhood has undergone a major change in Almendralejo. This second campaign of the year, which is traditionally held in August, is being carried out at the San José health centre, and not at the San Roque centre as has been the case in recent years.

The exact reason for this change of location has not been revealed, although it had been reflected for weeks in the blood extraction schedule that the Extremadura Blood Bank had published on the Junta’s website.

The eight days for donating blood will continue. Donations began on Wednesday 21 and will continue throughout this week until today, Friday 23. Next week there will be blood draws every day, from Friday 26 August until the 30th. The schedule will remain between 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The Extremadura Blood Bank reminds that all people aged between 18 and 65 who are in good health and weigh at least 65 kilos can donate. Donation is not recommended for people with anaemia, pregnant women, breastfeeding women or people with any type of illness.
