Today, Monday April 12, blood donors have the opportunity to participate in an exceptional blood drive at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg where after the donation, they will be able to visit the museum for free.
Faced with a drop in blood donations lately, this exceptional blood drive, while the museums are closed, is a way to relaunch the mobilization of blood donors by allowing them to take advantage of this place where another collection will probably be impossible in the future.
Unfortunately, the entire museum will not be fully open. But blood donors will be able to freely visit the rooms on the ground floor during the blood drive which takes place between 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
“We have great needs. We have reached our critical threshold falling below the 100,000 blood bag mark in France. This Tuesday morning, we are less than 90,000”, alarmed Mélanie Diem, communication officer of the ‘EFS Grand Est.
Faced with the closure of schools, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) sought other places to organize blood drives. With the closure of the cultivation places, the EFS decided to organize blood drives in these exceptional places, when possible.
