From the Ministry of Health the population is reminded of the importance of donating throughout the year, mainly because the demand for blood is permanent for health care in the different health centers. But also, because voluntary and regular donation is the best way to have safe blood.
They also underline that blood donation is an altruistic act that allows to alleviate diseases and save lives.
It should also be clarified that blood donation has no cost.
Requirements to donate blood:
- Be between 18 and 65 years old.
- Weigh more than 50 kg.
- Feel healthy
- Present with ID, identity card or passport.
- Prior rest of at least six hours.
- After the Covid-19 vaccine, you must wait 72 hours to donate.
- If you had coronavirus, you must wait 30 days to donate.
* Before going to the extraction, you should take light breakfast with sugary infusions, but do not consume dairy or fat.
Blood can be donated throughout the year
In addition to these collections, it is recalled that blood can be donated throughout the year in the different banks or hemotherapy services of public and private health centers.
In Capital you can go to the Blood Bank, located in the former San Roque Hospital, from Monday to Friday from 7.30 to 13.30 and Saturdays, from 8 to 12. To donate at this center, you must request one shift per call or WhatsApp at 351-2-480189.
Inside, you can attend the regional hospitals in the towns of Bell Ville; Villa Maria; Laboulaye; Jesus Maria; Villa Dolores; Clavero Mine; Fourth quarter; San Francisco; Axis Cross; La Carlota; Villa del Rosario; San Francisco; Marcos Juárez; Santa Rosa de Río Primero; Santa Rosa de Calamuchita; Third River; High grace; Deán Funes and Corral de Bustos.
