Blomberg. This year, von Hagen GmbH is celebrating its 30th anniversary in international exhibition and shop construction, as the company writes in a press release. Three years ago, “EuroShop 2020” was the last trade fair appearance for the entire industry for a long time – the beginning of the corona pandemic. Exactly three years later, the trade fair world is livelier than ever and von Hagen Design was happy to exhibit again in Düsseldorf – at the world’s leading international trade fair for retail, expo & events. And: The company reports a successful restart.
According to the press release, the company’s appearance at the “EuroShop 2023” already convinced international jurors at the trade fair and finally brought the first award to the Blomberg company to Lippe, the “Exhibitor Magazine’s Euroshop Award”, which is coveted in the industry.
A very special trade fair experience
On almost 70 square meters, von Hagen Design invited visitors to experience the story of three friends who came together with very different backgrounds and created the unique trade fair experience. Ernst Friedrich Drewes, born in Detmold, is a contemporary artist who, due to a disability, adapted his three-dimensional art into a two-dimensional plane in order to be able to continue to perform it.
Axel von Hagen, Managing Director of von Hagen Design and childhood friend of Drewes, wanted to help him find his way back to three-dimensionality and designed the anniversary booth together with Chris Wendel, “another longtime friend and respected designer from the USA”. . Various works of art by Drewes from different epochs were taken up and staged in a new way. “The trade fair visitor was able to experience the art for himself, be inspired and at the same time discover new combinations of materials,” the press release continues.
Installations to amaze
The main attraction was an LED wall that projected animated “ovals” behind a semi-transparent mirror foil and often earned questioning and astonished looks. The mirror wall stretched to a total of 5.50 meters in height and created a walk-in room in which the two-dimensional series of paintings “Noodle” was reinterpreted. Both installations took up the corporate colors of von Hagen Design and served as inspiration for Drewes’ new works.
Another piece of art was found in the reception desk, true to the style, which aroused the curiosity of the visitors and was intended to remind Drewes of his manufacturing skills.
The entire appearance convinced international jurors at the fair, now the entire team of the Blomberg company was happy about the award.
