Blogger Salma El-Shimy is being tried before the Economic Court, accusing her of violating family values ​​and principles and inciting immorality and debauchery by broadcasting indecent videos and pictures.

The Economic Misdemeanor Court of Appeal in Alexandria had decided to accept the appeal submitted by it, and to cancel the sentence of two years imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 pounds, and to rule again that the Alexandria Economic Court had no jurisdiction to hear the case, and referred it to the Cairo Economic Court for jurisdiction.

On November 20, 2020, Salma El-Shimi was arrested after she provoked angry reactions after publishing pictures of her on social media, and that she was filming inside the archaeological area without permission and in clothes that offend the values ​​of Egyptian society.

Al-Shimi and the photographer who was with her were released on bail of 500 pounds each.

Reports to the Attorney General

Ashraf Farahat, a lawyer, filed complaints against Salma El-Shimy, for publishing clips and pictures contrary to public morals, infringing on the principles and values ​​of Egyptian society, on charges of misusing social media.

“Farhat” said, through a post on his official account, “Facebook”, that not long ago he submitted a complaint against her to the Public Prosecutor, and there were many reports against the content she submitted.

“Farhat” added that Al-Shimi, 25, graduated from the Faculty of Nursing and was veiled, pointing out that he had previously filed a complaint against her on the occasion of a photo session in the pyramids in 2018.

And he continued: “Soon, she returned to this disgraceful behavior in order to attract views and profit, and God knows what the investigation with her will reveal to us after examining her phones .. God is the helper.”

And last April, the security services managed to seize a fashion blogger who was previously accused in one of the cases and issued several reports against her for displaying pictures and video clips of herself containing many immoral suggestions and movements with the aim of increasing the number of her followers to reach high viewing rates to achieve financial profits. A decision by the Public Prosecution to seize and bring her, upon her return from a country.

Confronting her, she acknowledged showing the aforementioned photos and videos in the framework of increasing the number of her followers. Legal measures were taken, and they were presented to the Public Prosecution, which ordered her detention pending investigations.

The accused was referred to the Economic Misdemeanor Court, west of Alexandria, after she was accused of broadcasting videos provoking sexual instincts and disgraceful to public modesty, offensive to the values ​​of Egyptian society and contrary to public morals, through social networks.

The accused was deported to Alexandria and a two-year prison sentence was issued against her and a fine of 100,000 pounds. She appealed to the economic misdemeanor appellant, and his imprisonment and the fine were cancelled. The court again ruled that the Alexandria Economic Court did not have jurisdiction over the case, and referred it to the Cairo Economic Court for jurisdiction.
