Blocking unused Privatbank cards: what is known

Bank employees allegedly call customers and ask them to perform any payment transaction with a card that has not been used for a long time.

Some media reported that Privatbank cards that have not been used for more than 30 days may be blocked. About it writes “Today” with a link to GSMinfo.

The article says that some of Privatbank’s clients began to receive calls from Privat employees with a request to make any payment transaction with a card that had not been used for a long time. Otherwise, the card will be blocked, even if its term has not expired. It is alleged that Privatbank allegedly reserves the right to block cards at its discretion. This behavior on the part of Privat was regarded as blackmail.

However, the official support of Privatbank did not confirm the information. When asked whether the bank really blocks cards that have not been used for more than 30 days, a specialist replied that this is not true.

Earlier it was reported that the user of the PrivatBank card said that on November 1, at about 14:30 in Kiev, he replenished his account in a street terminal, but the money was never credited.

Also “PrivatBank” announced restrictions on money transfers from one card to another. According to the changes, the bank introduces a limit on international p2p transfers for the sender in 25 transactions, and within Ukraine – 100 transactions per month.
