As noted in the Foreign Ministry, while Ukraine, together with the UN and partners, is working to create a humanitarian corridor for grain exports, but Russia complicates this with its aggressive actions. In particular, by shelling the grain terminal in Nikolaev, the Russians called into question the observance of guarantees of non-aggression on Odessa.
“Such guarantees should be provided by supplying appropriate weapons to Ukraine to protect the coast from threats from the sea and by attracting the naval forces of third countries to patrol the relevant part of the Black Sea,” the ministry stressed.
The ministry also reacted to Turkey’s efforts to solve this problem by reaching agreements with Russia.
“We appreciate Turkey’s efforts. At the same time, we must note that there are no agreements on this issue between Ukraine, Turkey and Russia yet. At the same time, we emphasize that decisions should be made with the participation of all parties involved. Any agreements that do not take into account the interests of Ukraine will be ours rejected,” the ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, the ministry noted that Ukraine has already begun exporting grain to the world market. Grain is delivered by trucks, railway and river transport.
