Block processing: what is changing today?

Rosenheim / Landkreis / Tirol – This Monday it’s once again truck block clearance at the border of Tirol and Bavaria. This means drivers have to be prepared for long traffic jams on the way south. You know that. What is new this time, however, is that trucks in Bavaria can no longer avoid driving on country roads.

Last Friday, the corresponding prohibition signs were published by Bavaria’s Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder, Bavaria’s Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter, Rosenheim’s District Administrator Otto Lederer and Police Vice President Frank Hellwig from the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters (we reported).
On the A8 heading south, there are now corresponding prohibition signs at all exits from Holzkirchen. The police have announced that they will closely monitor the new rules. However, fines are not yet to be imposed. However, this measure should not have any impact on the expected traffic jams.
