The second year with the coronavirus promises to be also fun ?? for Blizzard fans as the previous one. The company has resigned from the BlizzCon 2021 convention. Instead, a hybrid event is planned for the beginning of next year, combining online presentations with smaller fan gatherings.
In a message available on official website of the company it was reported that the decision results from the still unclear situation in the world in the context of the coronavirus epidemic. This hinders long-term operations, and Blizzard admits that there is simply no time left to organize a traditional BlizzCon:
Hosting an epic mass event like BlizzCon takes months of preparation ?? not only from us, but also from the many talented production partners, esports players and commentators, announcers, artists and other professionals we work with both in California and around the world. Continued legal and logistical complexities and the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic have influenced our ability to make long-term decisions. At the moment it is too late for us to be able to invite you to a party in November at a level that you are used to for years.
