Now there is a prospect of Diablo Immortal release date. On the night of May 5, Activision Blizzard released the latest quarterly report. It was about the revenue from the games, but also a perspective for the year 2021.
What does Blizzard say? The call said that Diablo Immortal is scheduled for a global release later in 2021. So there is no specific date, but at least there is a hint that it should arrive this year.
This is the first time that Blizzard has announced a release period for Diablo Immortal. Even at BlizzCon 2021, people were completely covered when it came to posting.
Only Chinese developer NetEase already claimed the game was ready, but that was in late 2019. Blizzard denied the statement at the time, reporting that development was still in full swing.

Diablo Immortal was poorly received in the ad, but things are changing
How has Immortal developed? Diablo Immortal was first announced at BlizzCon in 2018 and was not well received at the time. Fans were expecting a Diablo 4 and were disappointed with the announcement of a mobile game. The mood changed and there was the famous interjection of whether the ad was an April Fool joke.
In the meantime, however, the reputation of mobile gaming has changed a bit:
- Rod Fergusson, known as “Closer,” joined the Diablo team in February 2020, which many found positive.
- In the first tests in late 2020, many critics praised Diablo Immortal
- Some cool MMO skins have been announced, including raids for up to 48 players and PvP.
Over and over again, Blizzard emphasized that Diablo Immortal should also appear in the usual “Blizzard quality.” Also, Diablo Immortal and CoD: Mobile are said to have only been the beginnings of Activision Blizzard’s mobile games.
What about the other Diablo titles? Another positive for Diablo fans are the other two games that are currently in development.
- The remaster Diablo 2: Resurrected should also appear in 2021. This will come to PC and even consoles. However, there was no new information on this in the conference call.
- No new details were released for Diablo 4. There is no information on a release date yet.
