Blizzard has published a quarterly report on the development of Diablo IV. The studio updated the interface, redesigned the appearance of item icons and the layout of inventory, added the ability to play on a PC using the controller and showed a new family of monsters – cannibals. Information about this appeared on the official website of the studio.
Leading interface designer Angela del Priore said the studio has listened to player feedback and has no plans to return objects of different sizes to the game. Designers gave the badges a natural and realistic look, and also indicated the rarity of the equipment, so that it was noticeable and intuitive to all players.
Blizzard redesigned the Diablo IV inventory as it received several “vague reviews” about it. The studio said that the updated look has become more balanced, but she has yet to refine the colors and contrast between the individual elements of the interface. The game also added the ability to reassign keys and put skills in any cells. The interface for the joint passage of Diablo IV from one device has become another novelty, which was described in the quarterly report.

The command bar in the lower left corner in the PC version of Blizzard decided to return to the center of the screen by default. The company will provide the ability to place the panel on the left side of the screen in the game settings, but in the version for consoles only the configuration in the corner will be used.

Blizzard also introduced a new family of monsters – cannibals. Game designers said they came up with archetypes to make Diablo IV creatures diverse. Each such group will include several types of monsters. The cannibal family that the company presented in this quarterly report has four types of creatures, but they all attack only in close combat.
