Today, Blizzard held a live stream dedicated to the upcoming Diablo 4, during which the developers discussed a number of topics.
First of all, we got an overview of the endgame and mechanics of World Tiers, including the increased difficulty and powerful items that you will get by completing this challenge. Interestingly, upon reaching the third level of the world, there is a chance of Sacred items falling out.
Sacred items have a very wide power range, so you can get some really great drops early. Interestingly, their level is equal to yours at the time of the drop, so you can equip them right away. We’ll also learn about legendary abilities that can be extracted from items and applied to other items.
Unique items are very, very, very rare and start to appear as you progress through the Nightmare levels. An example would be an item for druids that makes werewolves their default form.
Next, we went into detail about the Paragon boards and the glyph system, which will allow you to radically change your playstyle in the endgame.
The developer also talked about what they learned during the beta, including some changes made to classes and more. This time we will learn more about the reasons for the changes.
Last but certainly not least, we learn that the “Server Slam” event will take place from May 12th to 14th. In fact, this is a new MBT. All changes made in the previous beta will be included in this build. Participants will get another chance to get rewards from the previous OBT, as well as the Ashava’s Cry trophy. To get it, you will need to reach level 20 and kill Ashava.
The team has also done a lot of work on PC optimization. More visual options will be available during the event, including DLSS 3.0 for Nvidia users.
