Blizzard boss resigns – Gamer.no

J. Allan Brack has officially resigned as head of Blizzard. It became clear Tuesday, in one press release from the company.

The news comes in the wake of gross allegations of harassment and gender discrimination by the game developer. Blizzard does not mention the lawsuit in its press release, but only writes that Brack stops to “hunt for new opportunities”.

Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra take over the management of Blizzard with immediate effect.

Oneal has been involved in the work of Diablo and Overwatch, and was previously head of Vicarious Visions – the developer behind Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 – which was recently acquired by Blizzard.

Ybarra has a long run time from Xbox. He joined Blizzard as Deputy Platform and Technology Manager in 2019, where he worked on the development of Battle.net.

– Jen and Mike together have more than three decades of experience from the gaming industry. In the future, they will share responsibilities related to the development and management of the company, Blizzard writes.

– I am sure that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will provide the leadership Blizzard needs to reach its full potential and that they will speed up the changes. [som er nødvendige hos Blizzard]. I reckon that they do it with passion and enthusiasm, and that they can be counted on to lead with an integrity and commitment to the parts of our culture that make Blizzard such a special place, Brack writes in his farewell message.
