Blizzard said it has no plans to make a remastered game for the time being.

Blizzard Allen Adham, senior vice president and co-founder, announced plans to create additional remastered works in an online interview at BlizzConline on the 20th. When asked if there are any games with additional remasters in mind, he said, “I don’t think there are any more games to remaster now.” He said that for the time being, there will be no re-creation of past games.

Blizzard has been releasing official remastered products for Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 every two years, starting with StarCraft 1, which was released in 2017. In fact, there are virtually no works that can be expected to be re-released except for those games. Diablo 1 and Warcraft 2 are often swaying among fans, but considering the graphics and game characteristics of the two works, a remake is more appropriate than a remaster. As Vice President Alan mentioned, most of the remasterable works were digested.

On the other hand, in this BlizzConline, many revivals of past works have appeared, such as Hearthstone’s Classic Mode, Blizzard Arcade Collection, Diablo 2: Resurrection, and World of Warcraft Classic Server’Burning Crusade’. Regarding this, CEO Jay Allen Brack said, “The reason we recreated the past game is because the fans wanted it,” and said, “It was not because Blizzard’s policy changed by making a game that stimulates nostalgia, but because there was a demand for it.
