BLITAR, FaktualNews.co – The rainy season, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and Chikungunya attack the residents of Blitar City. In order to anticipate the disease, the Blitar City Health Office carried out fogging to eradicate mosquito nests.
Now, chikungunya and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) have attacked residents of the Sananwetan District, Blitar City. In the sub-district, it was reported that two residents were affected by dengue and seven were affected by chikungunya.
“The findings of this case of dengue and chikungunya residents asked for fogging by the Sananwetan Health Center. Residents feel restless because there are findings of cases of DHF and Chikungunya. Then they asked for fogging,” said the Coordinator of the Jumantik Cadre of Sananwetan Village, Siti Nurhasanah, Wednesday (12/1/2022).
He explained that residents affected by dengue and chikungunya had received treatment at the hospital. Even so, after fogging the residents were asked to increase mosquito nest eradication activities (PSN). And keep the environment clean when entering the rainy season.
“Fogging only kills mother mosquitoes. While the larvae and eggs are not. For that we ask residents to increase PSN. We have asked the head of the RT to promote community service to clean up the environment during the rainy season,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases at the Blitar City Health Office, Trianang Setiawan, said that during the first 12 days in 2022 there were as many as two DHF case reports to the Health Office. Meanwhile, in December 2021, there were 17 cases.
As for chikungunya, his party received reports of seven cases that occurred in Sananwetan District.
“This weather factor does make cases rise because otherwise the rainy season there will only be about 4 cases per month,” he explained.
