Blau-Weiss Linz and Salzburg agreed to loan midfielder Raphael Hofer. The 20-year-old was trained at the Salzburg Academy from 2017 and played 38 times for second division side Liefering. In April, the native of Upper Austria had extended his contract with Salzburg until 2026, now the two-time U21 team player, who started playing football at Mauerkirchen, is supposed to gain match practice with the promoted team.
“We are very pleased that we were able to find a great solution for Raphael together with Salzburg. We are convinced that not only Raphael but also we will benefit from this one-year loan,” said sporting director Christoph Schößwendter. “It is a recognition for us that Salzburg have given us the confidence to help develop a player as talented as Raphael.”
Hofer also thanked Salzburg for the chance to prove themselves in the Bundesliga. “I’m really looking forward to this chapter, to the new stadium and can’t wait to play in front of these amazing fans.”
