A book about Italian right-wing populist opposition leader Matteo Salvini dominates the bestseller list in Italy, although all pages are blank. The blank book ‘Why Salvini Deserves Trust, Respect and Admiration’ has been at the top of the sales list of the Italian Amazon website for days.

“This book is full of blank pages. Despite years of research, we couldn’t find anything worth mentioning on this topic, so feel free to use it for your own notes,” the description of the 110-page work said.

Author Alex Green, referred to as a political analyst, probably uses a pseudonym. The self-published book was published in February last year, according to Amazon, but is now receiving attention in the Italian media.

The book of 6.99 euros receives an average of 4.7 stars in the reviews. “A long and difficult book, but it was worth it,” someone jokes in the comments. Others are less happy with it. “I only bought it to give a bad reaction. Don’t buy it!” Writes a man who rated the book with one star.

Salvini is the leader of the right-wing populist opposition party Lega and was previously Minister of the Interior in Italy. He is known for his staunch stance against migration.
