BLACKPINK’s Jisoo will release his debut solo album this year.
The 28-year-old singer confirmed on social media that she will be releasing an album in 2023.
Responding to a fan who asked on Korean mobile app Weverse if he could “look forward” to Jisoo’s solo album, the star wrote, “Please look forward to Jisoo’s solo album in 2023.”
YG Entertainment added in a statement, “BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is currently hard at work recording his solo album.
“Although he has had a busy world tour schedule since last year, he finished the album cover photo shoot and worked on the music production whenever he had time to fulfill his promise to fans. He will say hi. [fans] good news soon.
In January 2022, Jisoo was asked if she had any plans to release solo music later in the year, and she replied, “Of course!”
The K-pop girl group also consists of Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, all three of whom have had solo outings.
Jennie was first when she released the single “Solo” in 2018, followed by Rosé and Lisa in 2021.
This comes after Jisoo and Camila Cabello teamed up for a duet of “Liar” on the final date of their BLACKPINK North American tour in November.
The group sensationally wrapped up the US leg of their Born Pink world tour at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on Nov. 20, bringing in the former Fifth Harmony star to sing the song from Camila’s LP Romance.
The “Don’t Go Yet” hitmaker took the stage in a tailored Born Pink suit.
